I will probably buy the extended warranty even though as a rule I don't. That's because with my first Kindle it stopped working 3 months after I purchased it. It had been dropped a couple of times with no apparent damage but it had been weeks since the last fall. Even though Amazon replaced it free they aren't doing so now.
