Book 1 was on sale for $0.99 last month. The series is a blend of SF & detective/secret agent genres.

I really liked this series and was disappointed when the original publisher cancelled it after book 5. IIRC, the author did wrap everything up quickly in the last third of book 5.
I've only ever read Zahn's Star Wars books. Will give these a shot, thanks for posting.
