I didn't say that it will necessarily work. Just that it worked for me (I have been able to downgrade my PW3 right after an OTA upgrade - BUT maybe I was lucky and ended up with 5.8.9.0.1 rather than a "problematic" firmware) and that it seems like other people had success downgrading a device while it was not supposed to work on their firmware versions.

Everybody has to do his/her own research before attempting to do a JB, and to be conscious of the risk, of course. There are reports of bricked devices, and you are right to insist on that but it seems like some people have had no trouble downgrading their devices running firmware versions not supposed to be downgradable...
