Kobo Tech support is in Mexico City and while they try they can be trying at times. I have asked their location when contacting them and have always been told the individual is in Mexico City. They seem to have a rote routine for a given customer problem rather than actual thorough familiarity with the devices they are trying to support. No help if the problem is not a routine one in their menu options.

Since most companies have shipped their tech support overseas it has gone to hell compared to what it used to be. I first noted the deterioration when HP shipped their tech support overseas.

I do not believe that Kobo Support actually said to return it to Amazon though as claimed in post #7, unless bought there.
