Sometimes it is not as simple as that, it has to be a feature of the app. Even if the OS allows side by side view of 2 different apps, it is not guranteed to work. You increase difficulty 2 fold - first you want to have the same app open with 2 different instances and then you also want both instances to open the same book. Sounds trivial and simple, but it is not.
