Me, I love this series, especially the ones that are more political in theme, and he gives pretty detailed author's notes at the end, talking about the historical background of many of the books. With that said, somewhere upthread, I mentioned him before and some folks indicated they didn't like the series, so YMMV.

I was a hater, but my grounds were on historical inaccuracy. When I read the first 2 or 3, I don't recall seeing any notes.
