David Wishart's Marcus Corvinus series seems to be a love-it-or-hate-it series, primarily, I think, due to his use of "current" and rather snarky vernacular for the dialogue, which some folks find anachronistic. Me, I love this series, especially the ones that are more political in theme, and he gives pretty detailed author's notes at the end, talking about the historical background of many of the books. With that said, somewhere upthread, I mentioned him before and some folks indicated they didn't like the series, so YMMV.
In any case, a huge batch of his titles (including a couple of non-series titles, and one title in the middle of the series that he self-pubbed, before being picked back up by a BPH) have dropped in price to between £0.99 and £2.99 at Kindle UK.
