I will start a new book if I finish with enough time (at least 1/2 hour) to read. Otherwise I will wait till the next time I have enough time.
I rarely am reading multiple books at the same time so switching to another in-progress book is unusual. It does sometimes happen if I have an audiobook going on in parallel with a regular book.
