I don't see what registering or deregistering has to do with anything. If you're worried about a repeat of the George Orwell fiasco, turn off Wi-Fi and relax.

And as mentioned, if you already have the book backed up in your Calibre library, it doesn't really matter what Amazon or Kobo do.
