It occurs to me that it might be better if there were two sets of copyright rules. One for the original author and one for copyright acquired by publishers from an author.

My feeling is that publishers should forfeit their copyright if they fail to keep the publication in print or available as an ebook for five years (period negotiable).

The author should not lose copyright in this way but I think the copyright period should no more than 50 years from date of publication and probably less.
