Would be interesting to know whether you were able to factory reset the device and because of a problem with the display (or some other problem) you cannot see the effect, or whether there is still KSM running (and you cannot see it). When you saw KSM running, was it able to connect to a wifi network at start? You can still ask your router whether your device is connected to the network. You have about half a minute after you power on your device. If the device is connected you can access the device via the KSM webinterface.
