Question about email referencing Goodreads

I got an email today saying i got a message from Goodreads which was from person (his name included) mentioning that I liked a certain type of book occasionally. He mentioned one of his books with a link to go to in which if I enter the specified "promo code" I could get a free copy. Amazon lists the book with the person name.

I assume this is a scam (clickbait) as when I checked my goodreads it does not show that I received a message. I of course have not clicked on the link nor did my email account download images.

Just thought I would mention this. I do not recall that Goodreads exposes your email address (nor does mobileread?) so unsure how I got on this one.
