Question Duplicating One Book on Import

Using Kindle for PC (Version 1.17.0 (44170)). I download my purchases as usual from the Kindle store to the PC app. All e-books are in this one folder - no subfolders and all are "azw" files.

Using Calibre 3.16 (64bit).

My usual procedure is to go to "Add Books" -> "Add books from directories, including sub-directories (Multiple books per directory, assumes each e-book file is a separate book).

The import window will pop up after it scans the "My Kindle Content" folder, and I'll hit the "Select Folder" button.

I select the "NONE" option on import where it states that "Duplicates are found". As I understand it, this should not import any books that are already in the "My Calibre Library" folder.

This works for every azw file but one. Every time I add a new book from the Kindle Library and run the import, this book, and only this book, is imported as well. I noticed this when my book count was off by 5 at one time. It had imported this book 4 extra times.

Right now it's not a major deal, as I know every time I import books, I just delete the extra copy.

So, am I doing the import incorrectly? Do I have a bad azw file for this one book (I have removed it from my Kindle downloads, and redownloaded it)?

I appreciate any assistance. If this subject has been discussed in another thread (I searched but didn't find anything) just point me to that thread.

Many thanks!
