I've got the newest software on the other Touch but apparently I haven't used it enough to know what I'm missing. I don't think I'm quite as picky as you are about my "reading experience." As for chess, I don't even play it that much. I just liked the fact it was there when I had the Glo and was irritated that they took away, without announcement, with an upgrade. Didn't seem like the right way to go about it. I do know that my "new" Touch (older model) has a more sensitive touch screen, so this is probably the one I'll use.

You want the most recent software, I want the tiles, centros wants chess.

I guess it's the tiles front-end that I like, but I also like the way the Menu system is set up. It just feels "cleaner.' But part of this might be that the "B" Touch (apparently) had advertising and the original model didn't. I didn't even know Kobos had advertising.

But I've already got chess.

But seriously, I've got a lot to learn about the Kobos. It may be that I'll notice features in the newer software that will convert me to a "newer" upgrade on the other Touch. Maybe not. It may be one of these will be sold, but I'll probably hold on to both for now. I like the fact that I can choose the software that I want to use on Kobos – and part of this is just experimentation.
