A DVD command locked type of advertizing is obnoxious to say the least and I would be firmly opposed to any such concept in a 'one story' ebook.
Not quite the same thing to use MR as an example, because the ads were either at the top of the screen, or the bottom - never (to my recollection) within the threads....
