Those where originally for people who felt they had to press "Reset".
(Reset removes everything **except** our package signature certificate.)
Since it does no harm to apply it even when it is not needed, people have used it for any problem without a clear solution.
That is also why you do not need MrPI to install the (new - coplate's) "hotfix" package.
You can place it in the top level of visible storage and either use UYK or just re-boot into it.
I.E: Its only dependency is that the Kindle still have our signature certificate (a.k.a: jail break) installed.
