I left iBooks when an iOS 9 update destroyed my careful manually sorted by author and series library. Since iBooks only has a couple of auto sort options, I went looking elsewhere. It was MapleRead's sorting options that clinched the deal for me.

Yep, I do the same with Kindle books - convert to ePub in Calibre and read in MR.
