The registration hack I can think of is to update an entry in a database using some SQL. You should be able to run the SQL from any SQLite database management tool.

Before that, I would recommend doing a factory reset. There have been a few reports of problems after the image restore and most seem to be fixed with a factory reset. Another reason for problems is the internal SD card failing. If it is failing, it needs to be replaced.
