It just happened again. This time I hit end task but backgroundtaskhost crashing with nothing on the start menu. I remember this happening to others with 1709 now where did I put that article..... I may need to reinstall the start menu using powershell if a cold reboot doesn't fix it.

Update: Okay I think I fixed it. One of the pins on the taskbar had gone wonky. I unpinned then repinned it.
