Kick me off the fence

I'm thinking of getting a new device and passing along my 2013 PW (2nd gen?) to my daughter who is currently using a non-touch, non-backlit Kindle of similar vintage (I've got no idea what the savvy people would call that model).

I'm not sure if I want a Voyage and see if the baggie trick works better in the bath as compared to the PW (I hated the drips over the screen when I turned pages, and just gave up on the idea of bathtub reading entirely), or spring for the Oasis. I don't care about the audiobook option for the Oasis and would be getting the lowest-priced version. The bigger screen on the O2 is nice. Reported issues about charge aren't too off-putting for me as I could charge it every day if needed (not likely, I don't have time to read as much as I'd like!).

So, is built-in waterproofing and a bigger screen worth fifty bucks? Is there a solid, reliable CASE (not a fancy bag) currently on the market for the Voyage that is waterproof (and costs significantly less than fifty bucks)? Thanks for any input, particularly from those that have used both units and can compare them directly in terms of any nuances that might be important to know.
