I'm not sure where I stand on this,and I wonder of differing implementation for different formats.For example,with the readers that do not have internet access-you'd pretty much be stuck with these ads in your books,well forever -but on a kindle,would the ads vary ?
I'm not against advertising,but I also don't want to see it everywhere I turn.If it were relatively unobtrusive,I might consider it-but I would pay a premium to not have it as well,or at least would love the option. (and I would hate if they took the same approach as those DVDs where you can't go past the ads..grrrr)
