FYI, for lovers of mysteries set in Italy: also popular are two series by Lindsey Davis: the Marcus Didius Falco Mystery Series, whose first installment, The Silver Pigs, is set in Rome and Britannia during AD 70, just after the year of the four emperors, and a follow up, Flavia Alba Mystery Series, about Marcus' daughter who follows in his footsteps.
