Yes, the JB will work, I also have PW2 with 5.9.2.0.1 on which I did serial JB few days ago, and as you can see in this

I used a FT232RL, which cost just 1,5$(with shipping included from China
) on eBay or Aliexpress, on it you can also select with jumper 5v, 3.3v or <floating based on vcc in> if you remove the jumper completely.
