Child of Space by the late British author E. C. Tubb ( ISFDB, Wikipedia) of Dumarest Saga fame ( Wikipedia), edited by Philip Harbottle ( Encyclopedia of Science Fiction entry), is a previously unpublished vintage science fiction short novel, apparently newly rediscovered among his papers or whatnot, this story set on a moonbase that's anticipating the arrival of a very strange object, free courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press' Venture imprint for sfnal works, who apparently have licensed the reprint rights to his estate.
This appears to be a standalone adventure, rather than some sort of tie-in to any of his long-running series, according to the ISFDB listings.

Description
