I know one thing that irritates me, is poor formatting.

The book club read Whose Body? by Dorothy L. Sayers and the anti-semitism in the book rather bothered me. There were ways to say things without being so rude. Also, the book bothered me because the solution given was given in a letter by the guilty party and it was way too detailed for us to have figured everything out. Yes, you may have been able to figure out who did it, but not all the details.

I dislike dry boring writing such as found in a lot of pre-WWI classics. Jane Austen is one such author who's works are dry and boring.
