Jon, please supply some supporting evidence for your statement.

Every source I checked said that text is an ebook format as is PDF. Would you also state that RTF is not an ebook format? Baen would disagree with you as it is one of their supported formats. Hmmmm... there is also a WOLF format for ebooks (proprietary but when has that stopped anyone). File extension is .wol.

Summing up what the sites I went through stated, if you can read it on a device with a microprocessor, input/control capability and display, it is an ebook.
