Bingo. Plus, I really don't want to do a lot of testing with my stable Aura One LE at this point, for obvious reasons. If someone comes up with some theories, I might give them a try on the unstable devices the next time I visit my daughter, but I feel very protective towards my working, stable Aura One LE.
