Calibre ships with a comprehensive set of command line programs, some of which do not impose an structure on where files are located, and how they are named. See Command Line Interface

i think I'm right in saying those named calibre_xxxx are library related, and the rest are not. Some optional plugins can be invoked from the command line - unfortunately I am not aware of a list of such plugins.
