Audible Channels for Prime has been around since Sep 2016. This is the second time I've updated the list. There's a thread on this topic -- Audible Channels -- in the Audiobook Discussions forum.

Most of the books have been available since this benefit first launched, so I have no idea how Audible determines the rotation. It's definitely not monthly.

As to keeping a downloaded book, it could be tagged so that it'll no longer play if it's removed from the catalog or you cancel your Prime membership.
