I just tried it on a book in my calibre library and it worked for me using the same kindle firmware.

Suggestions:

Make sure that you have a Wi-Fi connection so that the kindle can download the cover from Amazon.

Verify that the ASIN is correct and the book is not marked as a person document by long pressing the cover thumbnail and selecting "View on Goodreads". That should take you to a screen showing the Goodreads information for the book.
