Uninstall everything (koreader, ksm)
Do a factory reset
start from scratch and maybe this time it will work.
2 questions -
1. How do i uninstall ksm and koreader?
2. if i do a factory reset will it safely wipe out everything without bricking the device?
Thanks for the help.
If you factory reset the device, there is no need to unistall anything. Everything will be wiped out automatically. And yes, by design it does this without breaking the device.

To uninstall Koreader: delete the folder koreader from .adds.

To uninstall KSM: select "tools" > "ksm diverse.msh" > "delete KSM.sh" (this will delete the part of KSM that is located on the system partition and restart the device, which will boot into nickel); then delete the folder kbmenu_user from .adds.
