Correct, with one clarification:
With Kindles, dragon-drop will work even when the AZW3 or MOBI has DRM, provided the DRM'd ebook was downloaded directly from Amazon while specifying the particular Kindle at download time. When you purchase and select "download to computer", you will then be asked to specify which Kindle will be getting the book.
