Try a couple of deep discharge and recharge cycles before buying the Paperwhite. This can help to make the battery monitor a bit closer to reality. Remember the numbers given by any ereader manufacturer are often using methodologies such as read 30 minutes per day with the light, WiFi and anything else that can be disabled disabled. Hmm... that last sentence makes sense but badly structured.
