I would definitely agree with adding the step of importing them into calibre and removing DRM before sending to your reader as part of your workflow. You can backup your library without worrying about someone else deciding to remove a book or three from your library at any time. Once calibre is setup and the plugins you need installed, you can also edit the metadata, covers, series info., etc.
