If it arrives with 5.9.2 - it is probably a returned item.
If you don't like the lighting, exchange it, you might get a fresh one in exchange.
Nobody has found the serial port connection for the KOA2 (yet).
I don't think anyone has tried to open it (yet).
I have not searched the web for any tear-down posts, maybe some other site has the information.
Whatever you find will be useful.
(I have seen tablets with no apparent way to open them, on those you use a suction cup as a handle to pull the glass off. I have no idea if that is the way the KOA2 is assembled. Yours might end up being exchanged as "broken in shipment".
