I've never regretted the not quite 2 years we spent up there, it was a great way to start our marriage. We were ridiculously young, 18 and 21. Trailer parks were the norm, most of the population in ours were in the Air Force and were not long term residents, although there were some who were.
When folks here complain about winter, it cracks me up. Winter up there lasted from late October to April. We only get spurts of winter here. We had 200 inches of snow the winter of 1978-79, the average is 150 or so.
We get maybe 40" here.
