I read and reread that as a girl; oh, I loved it. I even listened to the audiobook in the past year or so when I couldn't read after eye surgery.
Some of the sequels are nearly as good and they're in the public domain in the US and Canada and Australia and starting tomorrow will be in the public domain in Life+70 countries as well.
