I read epub. I have converted a book to kepub to get some benefits some discussed in here, maybe 6 months or a year ago. I didn't seem to get the hoped for benefits so I dropped it. I can't recall what those benefits were now.
Anyway I'm not really unhappy with the way the Kobo handles progress. I like to know how I'm coming along so at the start of each chapter I jump to the next chapter to see how many pages it is. Then I go back and begin reading.
A couple of times I even went all through the book making notes about how many pages were in each chapter so I could just refer to those notes. But it really wasn't worth all that to me.
Now that I know how to find out where I am in the Nook I kind of like that. I also like the Kindle's way of doing it with time left.
All in all though, this isn't an important issue to me. It's pretty minor. I like it when it's there. I don't mind when it's not.
