I use the time left in chapters on my Kindle and I've never been able to figure out if it's accurate or not. I don't think I read at a constant rate. I think a lot depends on my surroundings and on what's going on in the book.

I've made it a point to look at the time before and at the end of a session to see if it was accurate but by the time my session has ended I've often forgotten my starting time. And those times that I haven't I've had interruptions or gotten bogged down in a passage that I had to think about or had to use the dictionary.

My impression is that it estimates that I read faster than I actually do but I'm not really very confident in that impression.
