You might consider the original Kobo Aura. they're also about $50 on Ebay but they do have a light and they have a switch that turns the light off so if you don't like it you can live without it. It has a pretty good screen; not as good as some of the others but I read with mine all the time even though I have devices with better screens. The difference really is small enough not to matter while reading, only while comparing.

But since it does have a front light that means if you decide not to keep it you'll probably find it easy to get your money back selling it.

The Aura's firmware is slightly more advanced than the Mini although not much. It's a pretty nice device with a flush bezel, very small and light with a 6" screen. It's not a whole lot bigger than the Mini.
