I'm all about trying to live in a smaller footprint if I can. I still love books and will no doubt always have a half dozen bookcases around, but part of the value of eBooks for me has been savings in shelf-inches for each title.

I will buy titles I already own in an electronic format if it clears some space in my library, especially if they are thick tomes, like Mrs. Beeton's Guide to Household Management. Now instead of purging every six months, I can go a year or more before I must start weaning out the ephemeral titles from my shelves.
