There is a mistake in section 9.3.8. It says...

For example, it lists Bookerly as not allowed to be embedded. But, Amazon is wrong when it says it's available on Kindle devices. Some yes, some no. The Kindle Touch (for example) does not have Bookerly.
One font not mentioned is Charis SIL. So obviously, it's OK to embed.
