Okay. Let's start with the Forth Bridge. The Forth is the estuary near Edinburgh; in I think about 1880's they started building a railway bridge over the Forth, running close to the ferry (which no longer runs as we have the Road bridge, or do till it falls down.... but that's another story). Anyhow, as it was the first bridge, most call it the Forth Bridge.

Now, I misread Am's Band reference as "Steel Span". The Forth Bridge is a very impressive long Steel Span (I think when it was made it was the longest, but I could be wrong -- must read the wikipedia!)
