I won't really know if this is useful till I try it though.

I've mostly used my Glowlight Plus as a loaner for my neighbors who want to borrow a book. I've read a few books on it and overall I like it but the capacative home button and the grayed out dictionary make it difficult for me to use. Let my neighbors have that difficulty.

I remember reading that the earlier Nooks could be jailbroken or rooted or some such to be used with other ereading apps and maybe I'll be able to eventually use another app on this thing with a better dictionary. Wouldn't it be fun to use a Kindle app. Moon+ is probably what I'd actually use.

By the way, making this purchase was a huge lesson in the problems that face B&N. I was unable to make the purchase successfully online even after several tries. When I called their phone support I was unable to get past their voice menu system in any way at all. i tried quite a few times. I finally got into their chat support and the guy tried walking me through it and it failed. He suggested I close the browser, go back to B&N and try again. That did work after many attempts. I placed the order.

About half an hour later I got 2, yes two, emails from Paypal about the payment to B&N. I was charged twice. I only ordered one but I had to pay twice. I tried calling this morning and still wasn't able to get through. This time it told me they're too swamped and to call back some other time. So I got them on chat again and they've looked at it, found that they screwed up and have promised me a refund. I'm holding my breath.

How can one company make so many mistakes so quickly? They're just amazing!

I feel your pain. I ordered the Glowlight 3 online and faced some minor issues. I couldn't complete the purchase on Firefox for Android and had to switch from my tablet to Firefox on my laptop. No problems there though, so I don't know if it was the browser, the tablet or B&N.

I also picked up a cheap Nook tablet when they were on sale for $30. For that I just walked into the store and it was easy-peasy.

I do agree that their customer service just isn't quite up to snuff.
