Yes, I knew Texas was quite big; about a quarter the size of Western Australia and less than half its height
WA also gets very hot, Marble Bar holds world record for most consecutive days above 100°F. But, because its southern parts are on the coast, WA is not so cold - snow is almost unknown. And Texas is probably higher than WA; no where in Australia is very high.
Sandgropers (West Aussies) don't all own iron ore mines or cattle either, they don't even have the worlds largest cattle station (ranch), 'coz that's next door in South Australia
