I did a lot of crying the day he died, but since then, pretty numb. Most of my friends lost their parents long ago and they've warned me it'll take time to finally acknowledge that I can't just call him, that there won't be another family Christmas at his place, that it's real and he's not just "in another room"...but I'm not there yet.
Here's to hoping that he's in a place where the Indians and the Browns win every game. Where there's always an open (bowling) lane and there are never any splits. Where he can invite all the family that have gone before him to the biggest pool party of the summer.
