oasis 2: bottom button random problem

ever since i got my device i've noticed that about 1 out of 10 times i hit the bottom page turn button (i have them reversed) it fails to turn the page. at first i thought it was just the size change from the original oasis and i'd adjust to hitting it correctly or perhaps it was just stiff because it was new, but after hundreds of presses it has gotten no better.

i also notice that the top of the bottom button sits a fraction lower than the top button. the only way i can get it to work nearly all the time is to pay very close attention and press down firmly on the very center of the button, but the top button needs no such care or attention.

this is such a small thing that i doubt i'd return it to try a new sample, but turning the page by hitting the actual screen is even more unreliable than the button. this is the very first kindle out of 6-8 i've owned that i've had the least problem of this sort and it's disappointing to say the least.
