I use an AppleTV, Tivo, iPad and iMac for my various video sources.
Both Google and Amazon have interesting dynamics in this little battle. Amazon's issue is that people don't want a bunch of different devices, they want one and content is king on that device. If you can't get youTube, then young people don't want it. Google's issue is that Amazon is the go to place for new devices, so if they aren't on Amazon, where will people buy their devices?
I do think that eventually, we will see some sort of front end that hides the complexity of all the different video sources. Apple is trying to be that with their video app, but so far, I haven't been impressed with that app. The various audio front ends (Siri and Alexi with several more coming out) try to be that as well, but I think that interface is limited.
