Different circumstances.
Most of my commuting reading (from Amazon) is done on the iPhone Kindle app because I can hold the phone in one hand easily and slip it into a small pocket when I'm changing platforms. I read non-fiction (mostly) and graphic novels or PDFs on the iPad because of the larger screen. Non-Amazon purchases are read on the Icarus which also acts as a back-up Kindle reader if I run out of battery on the iPad or iPhone. The Icarus and the iPad are a fiddle on the commute because I transport them in a zipped compartment in my bag.
