I've popped into this forum a number of times since I started using Calibre, but I didn't join until a week or so ago. My introduction, therefore, is well overdue, particularly since I found some Very Good Advice about making calibre communicate more effectively with my Galaxy S4.
I tend to keep a low profile, and I don't like services like Google and Amazon looking over my shoulder, so I've switched my Android tablets, including my Fire HDX, over to the Pocketbook app (which I actually like more than the native Kindle reader) and use calibre to convert (to epub format) and manage my ebook collection.
I downloaded and installed Pocketbook independently, and not from Google Play.
